The department is one of the oldest in the institute; since 1986. Department caters the needs and expectations of the student and parents. Department committed for continual improvement striving to achieve excellence in engineering education, industrial research and working with society. Students are always considered to be center for 360 degree growth. Department thrust to provide an education that helps student to gain practical and intellectual experiences which will be helpful to serve society and understand their needs.

Department currently offers under graduate program in Mechanical Engineering. Intake to UG is 120 students. Currently department has more than 149 students in the UG program supported by 16 faculty members, 03 technical assistants, 01 office clerk and 01 menial staffs.

The focus of the department has been in developing the state-of-art computational and experimental facilities for the teaching and research. Department comprises of about 09 laboratories equipped with sophisticated instruments.

Academic course work and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering. Enhance the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, providing leadership and technical expertise.

Understanding the pace of industrialization department offers UG – B.Tech. (Mechanical) 4 years’ fulltime program, affiliated to DBATU Lonere, a state level Technological University.

Research culture is the strength of the department. This resulted in to more than 13 patents and more than 175 plus publications. A Department has PhD programme affiliated to KBCNMU, Jalgaon.

Department is organizing National Level Technical Event Competitions (IMPULSE) from last 12 years. Also department has organized ARTH event from 2023. From 2025 department has started new event ‘NIRMITEE’ for professionals and scholars.

Department has one Energy Auditors, also has three research guides affiliated with North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.

Programme Specific Objectives of Mechanical Engineering Department:

PSO-01 : Identifying the appropriate principles with materials science, design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.

PSO-02 : Adopt a multidisciplinary approach to solve real world industrial problems for sustainable development.

PSO-03 : Gain knowledge in areas of design, manufacturing, thermal, energy, and automobile and apply that to a successful career, entrepreneurship and higher education
