SSVPS Bapusaheb Shivajirao Deore College of Engineering organized a two-day workshop
titled “Beyond Generative AI: Building Next-Generation Agentic AI Systems” on 15 & 16
May 2026 at Lab 301, Department of Computer Engineering. The workshop was specially
arranged for Third Year Engineering students, and nearly 140 students actively participated
and benefited from the sessions.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. V. D. Patil, VIIT Pune who delivered expert sessions on
emerging AI technologies including Agentic AI Architectures, Multi-Agent Systems, Retrieval-
Augmented Generation (RAG), Reinforcement Learning, Tool Integration, and Ethical AI
practices. The sessions provided students with both theoretical knowledge and practical Hans-on
Session insights into next-generation AI systems.
The program was successfully coordinated by Prof. M. R. Tiwari. Valuable guidance and
support were provided by Dr. I. S. Borse, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, who
encouraged students to explore advanced AI research and industry opportunities.
The Principal of the institute, Dr. Hitendra D. Patil, appreciated the efforts of the department
and emphasized the importance of such workshops in enhancing students’ technical knowledge
and preparing them for future AI-driven careers. The workshop concluded with positive
feedback from participants and proved to be an enriching learning experience for all attendees.
With the inspiration of Hon. MLA Kunal Baba Patil, Chairman Subhashdada
Deore and businessman Vilasji Deore, the event was successfully conducted in the
presence of Principal Dr. Hitendra D. Patil, Head of the Computer Department Dr.
I. S. Borse, Prof. Surekha Patil, and all faculty members of the department, who
guided and encouraged the students.
