Industrial Visit to Jain Hills and Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd.: A Practical Learning Experience for Engineering Students
The Department of Computer Engineering at S.S.V.P.S.’s B.S. Deore College of Engineering, Dhule, successfully organized an industrial visit for Third Year students to Jain Hills and Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., Jalgaon, on March 12, 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with real-world exposure to industrial operations, modern irrigation technologies, and enterprise management systems.
A total of 65 students, including 45 girls and 20 boys, participated enthusiastically in the visit. The group was accompanied by faculty members Ms. Reema Satish Kalda, Ms. Preeti Gangurde, Mr. Mayur Agrawal, and Mr. Manish Tiwari, who ensured smooth coordination and discipline throughout the program.
The visit commenced early in the morning with departure from the college campus, followed by arrival at Jain Hills, a renowned center for agricultural innovation. Students explored the Research and Development unit, where they were introduced to advanced irrigation technologies such as drip and sprinkler systems. Under the guidance of industry expert Mr. Avinash Ingle, students gained valuable insights into water conservation techniques and their practical applications in agriculture.
The next phase of the visit included a tour of Gandhi Tirth, an interactive museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Through digital exhibits and audio-visual presentations, students learned about Gandhiji’s life, values, and contributions to the nation, adding a cultural and educational dimension to the visit.
After a well-organized lunch provided by the Jain Group, the students proceeded to the Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. manufacturing plant at Bambhori. Here, they observed large-scale production processes of plastic piping systems and irrigation equipment. Industry professionals Mr. Girish Joshi and Mr. Jitendra Shimpi guided the students through the plant operations. A highlight of the session was the introduction to SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products), where students learned about its role in enterprise resource planning, including inventory management, supply chain operations, and production planning.
The industrial visit proved to be highly beneficial, offering students a blend of technical knowledge and practical exposure. It enhanced their understanding of sustainable agricultural practices, industrial processes, and the integration of software systems in modern enterprises.
