Smart India Hackathon 2025 Grand Finale

In a yet another great feat of achievement by the students of our Department of Computer Engineering, we feel proud to announce that a group of our students were selected to perform at the National Level Final competition of the Smart India Hackthon held recently at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha.

The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 is India's largest innovation event, organized by the Ministry of Education & AICTE, empowering students to solve real-world challenges from government, industry, and society by developing innovative product-based solutions in a non-stop, nationwide competition, fostering a culture of product innovation and problem-solving for national goals like Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. It's a platform where young minds create tech solutions for pressing issues, bridging academics with practical application, with grand finales held in December.

Key Aspects of SIH 2025:

  • Nationwide Platform: Connects students from across India to work on common and complex problems.
  • Problem-Solving Focus: Addresses challenges from Central Ministries, State Governments, and Industries, covering areas like health, agriculture, space tech, and clean energy.
  • Innovation Culture: Aims to inculcate a mindset of product innovation and critical thinking among students.
  • Process: Students form teams, propose solutions, get shortlisted through internal college hackathons, and then compete in national rounds.
  • Impact: Creates tangible solutions, supports national missions, and helps industries identify top talent.

Our Students; Shubham Gharte, Narayani Ahire, Unnati Girase, Vaibhav Sonawane and Harshavardhan Sawant lead by Yash Thorat participated in the event guided and mentored by Prof. Vishal Deshmukh and Hon’ble HoD Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Indrabhan Borse.
