2-Day Workshop on Innovations in Drone Technology

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at S.S.V.P.S’s Bapusaheb Shivajirao Deore College of Engineering successfully organized a 2-Day Workshop on “Innovations in Drone Technology”, providing students with a unique opportunity to explore one of the fastest-growing and most transformative technologies of the modern era. The workshop was conducted under the aegis of the Robotics and Automation Club and was expertly delivered by Nitya Innovation LLP, Navi Mumbai, represented by drone technology expert Mrs. Snehal Gawali.

The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Vaishali R. Hire and Prof. Medha V. Joshi under the guidance of Dr. Pravin S. Patil, Head of the Department of E&TC Engineering, and the leadership of Dr. Hitendra D. Patil, Principal. The event aimed to familiarize students with the latest developments in drone systems and their rapidly expanding applications across various industries.

During the workshop, participants gained practical and theoretical knowledge of drone architecture, flight control systems, sensors, communication modules, navigation technologies, and emerging innovations in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Students were introduced to real-world applications of drones in agriculture, surveillance, disaster management, infrastructure inspection, logistics, environmental monitoring, and smart city development.

A major highlight of the workshop was the hands-on exposure provided to students, enabling them to understand drone assembly, operation, calibration, and flight mechanisms. The interactive sessions encouraged participants to ask questions, engage in discussions, and explore future career opportunities in drone technology and robotics.

The workshop successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements, inspiring students to pursue innovation-driven projects and research in emerging technologies. Such initiatives reflect the department’s commitment to nurturing technically skilled engineers who are prepared to contribute to the rapidly evolving technological landscape of the future.
